Aims

hpim0607The projects are able, mostly at no cost to themselves, to achieve a major step in their building or development work. They acquire a new circle of friends and often, new relationships with the community around the school are created.

       1. Through financing and building something needed by the project.

2.  By taking on some other development work.

3. Through community development in meeting the neighbours and other persons surrounding the project.

4. Through being part of an international network of projects and young people, with events besides work camps, like conferences, trainings, fundraising events and so on.

5. By accessing long-term volunteers who can work at the project.

6. By providing assistance with the planning and development process of the project where required.

7.  Exposure of the project initially on our homepage, leading to the opening of other platforms on the internet.

  • Please Note: Points 3 through 5 are naturally different for each situation, so please guard against unrealistic expectations.

What we need from the project.

8b322fdf141. Copies of Title Deeds to the land, Certificate of Registration or legal status of the project. Contact details of the project and one or two contact persons.

2. A Letter of Invitation to do a Workcamp

3. Description of the project. Who does it serve? What is its community base? What does it do?

4. Some photographic or video material (if available)

5. Some description of the available facilities regarding water, access to shops and businesses, accommodation, cooking and washing facilities etc.

6. Please note that we don’t need anything except a clear description of what exists in fact. As long as we know what to expect, we can arrange to undertake work even where no facilities exist and everything has to be brought in from the outside.

7. What work there is to be undertaken and how much is required of us in making the basic arrangements like planning, design and organization.

8. Contact to the local community so that building foremen, suppliers and so on can be dealt with.

What we organise

1. We describe the project on our Homepage, find work camp leaders, organize participants, arrange for flights and transport to get there.

2. Participants cover their own costs, including local transport, food and living expenses, and excursions. The project is not to be financially burdened.

3. Participants fundraise to cover material expenses for the work to be undertaken

4. We maintain contact with the project before and after the work camp, including it in our network, providing information about what is happening in Idem and supporting to the extent that our situation allows.
